“Mahathala” – film Festival will be held on 27th September at the auditorium of hotel school of Matale from 8.30 a.m to 7.30 p.m. This “Mahathala” film festival has organized parallel to the “Mahathala” Literary festival which is going to conduct by the district secretariat of Matale. A discussion will be carried on with topics such as national harmony between ethnic & racial groups by using of medium of cinema, conflict and peace, diversity, democracy & human rights throughout  this film festival. This festival has organized under the project of “Film for Dialogue”   with co-assistance of German Republic & European Committee and Cooperation of GIZ & Crizelice.

            Three short-films (from 9.a.m. to 11.00 a.m) and the film “Court is silent” directed by Prasanna Vithanage (from 12 noon to 2.00 p.m) and few other short films will be screened in this day. A discussion will be held with the participation of Mr.Prasanna Vithanage, film director, Mr.Victor Ivone, veteran Journalist and other expertise from 2.30 to upward at the same  day. Several short films which were produced by the producers in Matale district will be screened in this festival. This information has revealed through a media discussion that conducted with the leadership of Mr.Ishan Wijetilake,Additional District Secretary (Lands).
